Oberhauw A strong strike from directly above, aimed at your opponent's head or scalp. Also called the Vertex Strike. To properly perform the Oberhauw begin in Tag then bring your blade down through Langort and end in Olber. Flowing through these guards your strike will trace the line from A to E as in the above diagram. |

Zornhauw A serious strike from your right sholder, aimed at your opponent's left ear, or through his face or chest. This is the strongest strike beyond all others, for which the ancients named it Straight Strike or Father Strike. To properly perform the Zornhauw begin in Zornhut then strike out from there into Langort before ending in Wechsel. Strikes performed in this manner will trace the line from B to F in the above diagram. |

Mittel oder Uberzwerchhauw The Mittle oder Uberzwerchhauw can execute most of the effects of the Zornhauw, the only difference is that while the Zornhauw is a forceful high point, the Uberzwerchhauw is brought full on. |

Underhauw To perform the Underhauw begin in a low guard such as Wechsel. As you step forward cut upwards from below so that you end up in the right Ochs. Your strike will end up passing through left arm. You should end up in a form similar to the figure on the right in the illustration. |

Schielhauw The Schielhauw is also a High Strike, but is named such becuase you close with a small glancing blow. To do this put yourself in Tag or Zornhut with your left foot forward. Striking from this position wind your short edge angainst your opponents strike, invert your hands while at the same time close with him. Step with your right foot toward his left side, thereby taking his head. This will allow you perform the Schielhauw properly. |
